The "mGovAward" roadshow: 12 regions, over 4 thousand students and $ 100 000!

The roadshow  of mGovAward competition among students for mobile applications development, created by the Ministry of Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan and IT Park in collaboration with partners from the United Arab Emirates, whose prize fund is $ 100,000, has come to end!

On November 11, 2019, a large-scale roadshow at higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan ended as part of the mGovAward conpetition. IT Park representatives visited 12 regions of our nation and the Republic of Karakalpakstan, traveled more than 4930 km, spoke for more than 60 hours, talked with more than 4,700 students from 53 universities and institutes!

The purpose of this road show was to familiarize students of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the first national competition for talented and young developers, explain the conditions and requirements for selection, and also motivate promising personnel to create unique IT products.

We started our trip on October 3 with Andijan region, where we met with students of Andijan State University, Andijan Engineering Institute, Andijan State Medical Institute, Andijan Agricultural Institute.

And already righ on October 4 we had a meeting in Ferghana and Namangan region with students of such establishment like: Tashkent University of Information Technologies (branch in Ferghana), Ferghana State University, Ferghana Polytechnic Institute, Kokand State Pedagogical Institute, Tashkent Medical Academy (branch in Fergana), Namangan Engineering Institute of Technology, Namangan Engineering Pedagogical Institute, Namangan State University.

And on October 10, we had arranged seminars at 2 universities in the capitol: Amity University in Tashkent and Inha University in Tashkent.

On October 11, we have been in Almalyk city, where we met with the students of the National Research Technological University "MISiS" in the city of Almalyk and the Almalyk branch of Tashkent State Technical University.

On October 15, a visit to the Syrdarya and Jizzakh regions took place, where we presented a competition to students of Gulistan State University, Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute and Jizzakh State Pedagogical Institute.

On October 16, our delegation arranged seminars in the Samarkand and Navoi regions, where students were: Tashkent University of Information Technologies (branch in Samarkand), Samarkand State University, Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages, Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, Samarkand Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Samarkand State Medical Institute, Samarkand Agricultural Institute, Navoi State Mining and Institute.

On October 17, seminars were held in Bukhara along students of Bukhara State University, Bukhara Engineering and Technology Institute, Tashkent State Dental Institute (branch in Bukhara), Bukhara State Medical Institute, Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Land Reclamation (branch in Bukhara).

On October 18, we were already in Kashkadarya region and addressed students: Tashkent University of Information Technologies (branch in Karshi), Karshi Engineering and Economic Institute.

On October 21, our team talked with students of the Tashkent University of Information Technology and the International Westminster University in Tashkent.

On November 1, we managed to go to the Republic of Karakalpakstan, where we talked with the students of Karakalpak State University, Nukus State Pedagogical Institute named after Azhiniyaz, Tashkent University of Information Technologies (Nukus branch), Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture, Nukus branch of the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute, Nukus branch of Tashkent State Agrarian University, Nukus branch of Samarkand nstituta of Veterinary Medicine, the Nukus branch of Navoi State Mining Institute, the Nukus branch of the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports.

Our next destination on the roadshow was a trip on November 2 to the Khorezm region, where we met with the students of Urgench State University, Urgench branch of the Tashkent Medical Academy and the Urgen branch of Tashkent University of Information Technologies.

Our last stop in the road show was the Surkhandarya region, where we presented the mGovAward to the students of Termez State University, Tashkent State Technical University (Termez branch), Tashkent State Agrarian University (Termez branch), Termez branch of the Tashkent Medical Academy , Termez branch of Tashkent State Pedagogical University.

"MGovAward" is a republican contest for the creation of the best mobile applications. The aim of the competition is to develop and strengthen the potential of students of higher educational institutions to IT development and support youth initiatives in the field of information and communication technologies.

Directions for the development of mobile applications are: education, healthcare, tourism and culture, entrepreneurship, transport and logistics.

One of the main criteria for selecting projects will be: the effectiveness of the future application, its innovativeness and ease of use.
