On March 11, 2020, the grand opening of the new IT Center was held in the Yangibazar district, Khorezm region, which attended by the Minister of Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shukhrat Sadikov, mayor of the Yangibazar District Oktam Masharipov, CEO of IT Park Farhod Ibragimov and Director of IT Centers under IT Park Nodir Alibekov.

As part of the third of the five initiatives led forward by the President of Uzbekistan, the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications is creating digital training centers (IT-Centers) for the population in all regions of Uzbekistan. To date, already 24 such centers throughout the nation are functioning.

“In the current year, we are focused on opening IT centers in all regions of Uzbekistan. These centers are deemed a worthy gift for developing and improving the skills of our talented youth,” - said Shukhrat Sadykov.

To facilitate an IT Center in the Khorezm region, by support of the district administration, an empty building belonged to Uzbektelecom JSC, Khorezm branch, had been selected and completely reconstructed, and subsequently equipped with modern computer technologies, robotics studios, e-sports equipment and other educational facilities.

In the future, the young people living in the region will be busy with the creation of innovative solutions in the field of information technology, programming, and the development of startup projects.

Thanks to the launch of the current IT Center, young people also got the opportunity to take an active part in the One Million Uzbek Coders project, implemented throughout the country.

In the future, the Center plans to train everyone in the field of modern digital technologies, and it will be able to reach more than 5000 people.

It is worth to note that the best graduates of Inha University in Tashkent and the Tashkent University of Information Technologies will teach at the Center.

In addition, representatives of the Ministry of Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the IT Park team participated in the regional trade and industrial fair organized in the Alpomish sports complex located in Gulistan city.

Within the event scope, IT Park representatives held a presentation related to the organization’s activities, talked about the progress of the projects, as well as future plans.

Should be noted the IT Park team got familiar with the progress of constructing IT Park branch in Gulistan and the planned IT centers in the Khovos and Saykhunabad districts.
