The Uzbek-Tajik business forum wrap-up

Tashkent hosted the Uzbek-Tajik business forum bringing together over 200 officials and business people of the two countries. 

The forum was opened by Deputy Prime-Minister and Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and First Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Davlatali Said.

The heads of delegations of the two countries emphasized the significant potential for expanding economic partnership and called on the representatives of the Uzbek and Tajik business communities for active and successful cooperation.

During the event, the parties stated that in the near future it is planned to create a border trade and industrial zone "Uzbekistan-Tajikistan" in Oybek and Fotekhobod checkpoints that will allow developing industrial cooperation between the two countries. Furthermore, the parties discussed joint projects and initiatives in transport, logistics and interregional cooperation.

As part of the forum, IT Park signed a Memorandum with the Business Incubator of Tajikistan.

Key areas of cooperation:

• active participation of the parties in involving the youth of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to international educational events;

• joint implementation of international scientific, educational, innovative and practical projects;

• holding joint activities to identify talented youth;

• exchange of information and experience on various educational programs for students, startups and investors;

• holding conferences, seminars and workshops on relevant aspects in the development of the innovation ecosystem.
