Visit of the Ambassador of Oman to IT Park: New Horizons for IT Partnership

Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, held a meeting with H.E. Wafa Jabr Nasser Albusaidi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Uzbekistan. The purpose of the visit was to gain insight into ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan’s information and communication technology sector and to explore avenues for cooperation in the field of ICT between the two countries.

During the visit, Sevara Khidoyatova, representative of IT Park Uzbekistan, delivered a presentation highlighting key performance indicators of the organization, including the number of member companies, available state-provided incentives, and the “Zero Risk” program.

The Ambassador was also introduced to the operations of the Uzinfocom Center, where she commended the favorable conditions established for the development of the IT sector, as well as the comprehensive government support measures in place.

Abdulakhad Kuchkarov emphasized the growing ties with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, noting in particular the recent opening of IT Park’s representative office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Abdurakhim Turgunov, Local IT Services Development Manager, delivered a brief overview of IT Park’s initiatives in Arabic — a gesture that was especially appreciated by the Ambassador, who expressed gratitude for the presence of Arabic-speaking professionals within the IT Park team.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Ambassador extended an official invitation to representatives of IT Park to undertake a reciprocal visit to the Sultanate of Oman. Furthermore, a visit by the Omani Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, to Uzbekistan is anticipated in the near future.

The visit of the Ambassador of Oman represents a significant milestone in the advancement of bilateral cooperation in the ICT sphere. IT Park remains committed to strengthening international engagement and attracting new partnerships aimed at fostering the development of nation’s digital economy.
