A delegation of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by Minister Sherzod Shermatov and with the participation of the First Deputy Director of IT Park Abdulahad Kuchkarov, is on a working visit to the Peopleʼs Republic of China.
As part of the visit, on April 17, the delegation visited the PCCW office, where they got acquainted with advanced communication services built on the basis of 5G.
Additionally, PCCW representatives introduced the guests to the best practices for building, expanding and implementing modern LTE/5G mobile networks in Hong Kong, and shared their experience on the development strategy of the digitalization and telecommunications industry, including methods for using new mobile technologies.
Representatives of PCCW demonstrated their outsourced network management and data processing services to state-owned companies such as police, airlines, banks and private Internet companies.
After the demonstration, the parties exchanged views and vision of the development of the industry and discussed the possibilities of cooperation. After the meeting, a visit to the “Data Center” of the PCCW operator was organized.
During the visit, the Uzbek delegation was told about the capabilities of the Data Center and its infrastructure, as well as the positive experience of creating such institutions.
For reference: PCCW is a Hong Kong information and communication technology company operating in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas. The company mainly provides ICT services to small, medium and large companies.
On the same day, the Uzbek delegation met with the leadership of the China Mobile Data Center located in Hong Kong.
Representatives of China Mobile spoke about the work of the Data Center, its capabilities and successes.
The guests were told about the infrastructure of the center, designed on the basis of Tier 3 – the infrastructure and equipment reliability standard, which is assigned to Data Centers. This center aims to improve the quality of the company's services in various areas such as green technologies.
The company has created an opportunity for subscribers to use services based on virtual servers and cloud technologies, and for the company's clients to host their own server devices.
On April 18, as part of a business trip, representatives of Uzbekistan visited the headquarters of Huawei in Shenzhen.
Huawei presented innovations and trends in the field of ICT technologies, including 5G and 5.5G, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, digital solutions for various industries based on energy efficient technologies. The Uzbek delegation was told about the experience of successfully implemented digital projects in China, including projects for the digitalization of educational institutions and their campuses, social and transport facilities, individual districts and cities.
Huawei representatives spoke about the company's achievements in the field of ICT, new innovative solutions that empower programmers, new digital and travel ecosystems, and demonstrated the best practices of using Huawei's 5G network in a number of overseas destinations. During the visit, the guests got acquainted with the company's plans to launch the next generation network – 5.5G.
The guests also visited the Huawei Science and Technology Exhibition. The exhibition showcased 5G technologies, next-generation communication devices, low-maintenance mobile stations for remote locations and sparsely populated areas, modern telemedicine using 5G, as well as new 6E Wi-Fi-based devices for the public and business.
In the afternoon, a meeting was held with Yi Xiang, Director for the Middle East and Central Asia of Huawei.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a further increase in the number of mutually beneficial projects. In particular, it was noted that the plan of agreements on the export of education and services is being implemented at an accelerated pace.
