3rd meeting of women’s IT club ‘GAP’ takes place in Chirchik

On October 8, the long-awaited third meeting will take place within the IT-club for women "GAP". This time, in order to expand the geography, the event will move to Tashkent region - the BPO center of Chirchik district specifically.

The third meeting within the club will be devoted to the topic of freelancing and its possibilities. The event will start at 10:30. In the official part of the meeting, Kamola Sobirova, Advisor to the Minister of ICT, will address a welcoming speech on attracting females to the IT sector, and promoting Uzbekistan as a regional IT hub.

In addition, the participants are expected to address a speech:

- Makpal Nadirova, manager of the Chirchik IT Center, who will speak about the BPO, its advantages, along with freelancing experience;

- Khojarbu Khaitmetova - freelancer, website developer, who will share her experience and talk about popular freelance sites;

- Fazliddin Tajibaev, specialist at the Center for Digital Economy Research. He will deliver a speech on e-commerce, how to sell on major marketplaces,and how to use eBay and Amazon.

The unofficial part of the program, like last time, will include sports activities.

Note: the GAP club was initiated by the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications in partnership with IT Park. This time, the Ministry of Sports Development of Uzbekistan also acted as a partner of the project. The project was created with the aim of attracting women to the information technology. The main objective of the club is to support women, improve their IT literacy and provide them with training and employment opportunities in IT.
