A project to support women entrepreneurs in Bukhara region has been completed

Supporting for womenʼs entrepreneurship and ensuring womenʼs employment is one of the main tasks of any state. That is why various projects are being launched to help women entrepreneurs. One of these programs was the Economic Development Support Project, implemented by IT Park and Astrum IT Academy as part of the OSCE program on professional development in the field of IT skills and digital marketing for women entrepreneurs in Bukhara region.

On December 22, the closing of the project took place in Bukhara. The final event was attended by OSCE representative Nargiza Karimova, director of the Bukhara branch of IT Park Sobir Safarov, representatives of IT Park, as well as teachers and graduates of the course.

The Economic Development Support Program was a free refresher course for women engaged in handicraft activities in Bukhara region. The main purpose of the project was to strengthen the business potential of women entrepreneurs through information technology and digitalization, as well as to empower women in the socio-economic life of Uzbekistan. 

Applications for free training courses began on November 15 and ended on November 21. The course program itself started on December 1.

It should be noted that a total of 227 women aged 30 to 60 applied for participation in the program. Basically, these are artisans, seamstresses, entrepreneurs and representatives of the service sector.

Several program participants shared their impressions about participating in the project.

“During the project, I learned how to work with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, as well as platforms such as OLX and Uzum Market. The knowledge that I received during the training period, I will apply in the future, in the development of my activities. I am in favor of having as many such projects as possible in the future” said the entrepreneur Qulnoz Samieva.

I learned about this project through social networks, and immediately registered. I went to the courses with the aim of expanding my entrepreneurial activity with the help of IT and making extensive use of e-commerce and retail marketing. I am very grateful to the project for teaching us how to develop our activities with the help of the IT industry said the entrepreneur Mehriniso Khamedova.

At the end of the event, all participants of the program were awarded certificates.

Recall that the program included two stages. The applicants, who successfully passed the test, were admitted to the first stage of the training course, in which 150 women entrepreneurs were trained in information technology and computer literacy. Further, 90 participants who successfully passed the first stage were admitted to the second stage of advanced training in IT-tools in e-commerce and digital marketing.
