Award ceremony for the winners of the third wave of mGovAward

On January 29 at 11:30 in the conference hall of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the award ceremony for the winners of the third wave of mGovAward took place. The event was organized by IT Park with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the UAE.

The event was attended by representatives of government organizations and the startup ecosystem, media, as well as partners from the UAE: Mr. Abdullah Nasser Lootah (Deputy Minister for Government Affairs), Mr. Salim Al-Shami (Director of Government Services Development Department at Prime Ministerʼs Office – UAE), and Mrs. Manal Bin Salem (Team leader, State Knowledge Exchange Office).

The event was inaugurated by Mr. Oleg Andreevich Pekos, the First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies. He emphasized that the primary goal of the mGovAward competition is to foster the youthʼs interest in collaborative efforts with the government and to develop high-quality solutions for the advancement of mobile government services. The best-developed solutions will be implemented in government institutions.

As part of the event, a panel discussion took place featuring the participation of Mr. Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, the Executive Director of IT Park, and Mr. Salim Al-Shami. The discussion focused on the outcomes of the conducted competition and explored prospects for further collaboration between the two countries.

 

During the event, the winner of the second wave of mGovAward, Mr. Muhammadsaid Mamasaidov, the founder of the Tahrirchi project, delivered a motivational speech. He shared insights into his success and highlighted how participating in the competition contributed to the development of his project.

mGovAward is a national competition for the development of government mobile applications with a prize fund of $100,000. A total of 63 teams submitted applications to participate in the third wave of the competition, of which 20 projects advanced to Demo Day.

The winners of the competition are:

  • 1st place (and prize of $50,000): Logo Smart — an innovative online program for correcting speech defects in children, utilizing artificial intelligence. Team members: Samandar Khasanov, Islomkhodja Nigmatov, Egambergan Atamuratov, Fayoza Shodmonova.

  • 2nd place (and prize of $30,000): Drivesafe — an application that uses video monitoring and alerts to prevent accidents related to driver drowsiness, acting as a vigilant companion tracking signs of fatigue. Team members: Bekhzod Shukhratov, Botirjon Sobirov, Bekhruz Abdullakhujaev.

  • 3rd place (and prize of $20,000): School of Autism — a mobile application that assists children with autism in learning, developing, and communicating. Team members: Dilnoza Sulaymonova, Shakhzod Botirov, Sevinch Ikromjonova, Rashod Akramov, Shokhrukh Pardaev.

To recall, the third wave of the competition commenced on July 1, 2023. As part of participation, contestants were tasked with developing a mobile application for the government sector in one of the following areas:

  • Transportation and logistics
  • Data-driven solutions
  • Education
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Human resources and well-being
  • Ecology and environmental protection
  • Tourism
