On May 21, the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO) for high school students was held in a distance format.
APIO is an annual online Olympiad for high school students, which is held at venues within their country among IOI participants. The first APIO was held in Australia in 2007.
This year it was attended by more than 200 talented youth from 33 countries, who in the struggle for the title of the best passed a number of tasks and tests.
One of the members of our team, selected to participate in the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), a student of the 11th grade of the Specialized School of the Almazar district of Tashkent, Dilshodbek Khodjaev, won a bronze medal.
Dilshodbek was a participant in preparatory classes in the form of Bootcamp, organized with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education and IT Park for applicants for the Uzbekistan programming team to participate in the IOI International Olympiad.
Classes were held on April 10-16 at the Livingstone Hotel & Resort, located in the Bostanlik district of the Tashkent region. During the training, only 12 candidates were selected to participate in the preparation for the IOI International Olympiad, and they were given the opportunity to study and develop along with the international expert Bartocz Kostka (Canada), who won IOI medals as a coach. As a result of the training, 4 of them were selected to participate in the IOI International Olympiad.
We are proud of the sincere talents of Uzbekistan and are grateful to everyone who supported our students on this path. We wish our hero further success and victories at all future International Olympiads!
