Demo Day of mGovAward contest

Astrum IT Academy hosted the Demo Day of mGovAward contest that took place as part of cooperation with the UAE on the development of state-run mobile application.

Deputy Minister of ICT Jamshid Egamberdiev, CEO of IT Park Farhod Ibragimov, Head of Government Services Efficiency Department at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs of the UAE - Wedad Bin Braik and Senior Analyst at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs of the UAE - Abdullah Al Hammadi attended the Demo Day.

The event was organized by IT Park with the support of the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan and the UAE Government.

mGovAward, as was noted, pursues the goal of increasing the interest of young people in engaging in collaborative work with the state and the development of quality solutions for mobile government services. The best ones will be implemented in government institutions.

Nineteen contestants that made it to the finals had an opportunity to pitch mobile apps to the jury members.

Mobile applications covered education, healthcare, tourism, transport and logistics, entrepreneurship, ecology and clean energy, finance and taxes, and legislation.

mGovAward finalists:

  • Braille Recognition - a mobile application for Braille script from images taken with a smartphone camera (without the use of special equipment);
  • Tahrirchi - free Uzbek language spell checking software keyboard for Android.  Supports:

 - spell checker (including Tashkent dialect);

 - Auto-completion (addition of the next affix);

 - Prediction of the next root from Cyrillic to Latin and vice versa, directly from the keyboard;

 - Checking for spelling errors;

  • Lalu - Onalar maktabi - application for pregnant women and mothers with newborn babies.  This is a system for the exchange of reliable information about pregnancy and childcare, as well as monitoring the health of mother and child;
  • MEDBOX is a mobile application that offers a new online interaction between doctors and patients.  It has important features like document sharing, video calls, meeting management and more. Application allows patients to talk to an available family doctor, get advice from a general practitioner via video/audio call, select a type of doctor, and make an appointment according to their schedule.  Furthermore, one can view profiles of physicians, articles and ratings;
  • Uhealth - an application that aims improving healthcare system and simplifying the patient's interaction with physician;
  • Tillo Girl - a mobile application designed for women's health and safety: in case of violence and danger to the girl, she sends the location to selected contacts via SMS, finds the nearest bus stops, pharmacies, police station, hospitals.  When a panic button is removed, a message is sent to the selected contacts stating that the girl is safe with the information about her location.  Also here one can find information related to the girls’ health;
  • Metaverse Medic is an educational platform for those who are interested in medicine where users can see parts of the human body in AR and 3D;
  •  Robocontest.uz is one of the most advanced platforms that helps users improve their programming skills and expand their knowledge.  The system allows enables learning c++, python, java and other programming languages along with studying robotics online on VR simulators and other devices;
  •  Don't waste – an app where users can find food nearby to buy or donate.  They can also sell or donate the products while they are still safe to consume;
  •  Inson CRM (I-CRM) - the application helps to manage a large number of online requests and streamline them so that they are easy to process.  Moreover, Inson CRM (I) can help numerous government organizations to structure the population inquiries to process information efficiently;
  •  HealthyMe - the application is about correct online diagnostics using well-designed algorithms.  After the diagnosis, the user can get a list of medicine for treatment, schedule appointment with physician and set the time according to patient’s preference;
  •  Uzdevs is an online educational platform for programming.  Uzdevs contains interactive and easy-to-understand programming lessons, tests, exercises, etc. The project aims promoting professional programmers across the world;
  • MentorMe is a platform that connects mentors (experienced and well-qualified professionals) with apprentice.  It provides tools that make collaboration effective and beneficial for both mentors (payment, experience) and apprentice;
  •  Utour - guides in Uzbekistan - a service for finding guides in Uzbekistan.  Database of guides, translators, drivers, attendants and tour operators.  The service will provide an opportunity to plan a vacation in Uzbekistan according to interests (tours, history, adventures, national cuisine, shopping, etc.);
  •  Wisdom dictionary - the dictionary has over 120,000 words and phrases.  This is the only dictionary with the largest number of words and phrases in Uzbekistan;
  •  My Health vessels - the application deciphers the results of a blood test (coagulogram-based). Personal diet, daily water intake, and physical activity are selected based on this test results;
  •  Ecogram - the application allows one to take care of the environment and receive bonuses, which can be exchanged for discounts or other offers from sponsored companies;
  •  MathTask Setagi - a puzzle that develops mathematical and logical thinking;
  •  Eco Portal - The app helps people live a healthy, eco-friendly lifestyle.

 

Winners will be announced in the beginning of July during the awarding ceremony.

The total prize fund of tournament is $100 000:

Winner – $50 000;

1st runner up– $30 000;

2nd runner up – $20 000.
