On December 5, 2020, the "Demo Day" of the "Tumaris Tech" project took place, where 17 teams presented their business projects.
The jury members were local and foreign experts from Uzbekistan, Singapore, Kazakhstan and Russia.
The jury included:
- The founder of the marketing agency “sterno.ru” and the platform “brandspotter” for monitoring social media, the marketing Director of the Swiss startup Daedalean AI (Autonomous flight control for the electric personal aircraft of the near future) - Olga Sternik;
- The creative Director of IT Park - Jamila Khalibayeva;
- The chief Executive Officer of Moreinfo - Ayjan Kasimbekova;
- The operations manager of DGP agency - Elena Karandashova;
- The financial consultant and the head of the department of Tashkent Westminster University - Nodira Abdullayeva.
Let's go through the statistics:
Out of the received 203 applications, 34 were selected and invited to Pitch Day, which took place on September 14, 2020. Afterwards, 20 projects continued their training with the support of foreign mentors and experts. In total, 26 classes were held with foreign specialists. As a result, 16 projects were able to go through all the stages and come till the Demo day. In the end, we have more than 65 girls and women who have successfully completed training, who today continue to develop themselves as well as implement their projects.
It is worth noting that the oldest participant is 53 years old while the youngest one is 15 years old.
Projects presented by the participants at Demo Day:
- ProSto - online service for preparing homemade food;
- Eduland.uz - a portal with information about private kindergartens and schools in Uzbekistan, accumulating multivariate reviews;
- UzWedding - a project in the field of wedding tourism;
- Handmade - a site for the sale of handmade goods, an analogue of Etsy for the countries of Central Asia;
- Live book - portal of audiobooks;
- FreshDeals_Home - home delivery service;
- Autoser - a mobile application and site for storing information about the activities of beauty salons;
- AMA - development of special bulbs for remote switching on and off the light;
- DIS-COUNT - an application for paying for goods and services, as well as for receiving discounts, points or cashback for the customer loyalty program;
- Hizmat - a mobile application for finding female employees providing personal services;
- AVESTO soft - software development for the textile industry;
- Alphamama.uz - an Internet resource for mothers, combining reference, information and communication resources;
- SmartPark - a project to develop intelligent parking technology;
- GoSmart - a platform for online internships, online courses and career counseling, including career guidance;
- Unions - a platform for volunteers and people in need of their services;
- Zarplata.uz - an Internet portal that provides access to up-to-date information on the level of remuneration, compensation and benefits in the real time 24/7;
- Eyecaria - a platform for the diagnosis of retinal cancer in children.
