The Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of IT Park Uzbekistan, Farhod Ibragimov, held a meeting with Murat Makhkamov, Founder of FOM Group, and Abdukahhor Tashmukhamedov, Founder of GreenWhite Solutions — entrepreneurs operating in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
During the meeting, discussions focused on the business environment in the region, the achievements and challenges faced by companies, as well as the prospects for the development of Uzbekistan’s IT ecosystem. Particular attention was given to the Enterprise Uzbekistan initiative, which is being developed based on the experiences of free economic zones in the United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Singapore, and other leading economies.
Success of Uzbek IT Companies in the MENA Region
FOM Group, specializing in pharmacy business automation, has successfully integrated over 400 pharmacies in Dubai and continues to expand its network of partners. The company has also obtained a business license in Saudi Arabia’s free economic zone and has commenced the process of integrating with the country’s regulatory authorities. Looking ahead, FOM Group is preparing to launch a global pharmaceutical directory, which will serve as a comprehensive aggregator of pharmaceutical information, facilitating optimal access to medicines for manufacturers, distributors, and consumers.
Simultaneously, GreenWhite Solutions is conducting an in-depth market study in Saudi Arabia to introduce its corporate solutions. The company recognises the region as a strategically important destination and is working on developing solutions that will meet the demand in the country's market.
The discussions underscored the strong potential of Uzbek IT companies in the MENA region. Meeting participants expressed a commitment to fostering collaboration and acknowledged Uzbekistan’s efforts to establish a favorable environment for IT business development and international market expansion.
