On January 11, 2021, IT Park signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This event was the beginning of a new project “Future Skills Uzbekistan”, which is aimed at developing and training new professions, most often required by employers in the 21st century.
The event in honor of the signing of the memorandum was held at the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Minister of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nozim Khusanov, Director of IT Park Farhod Ibragimov, media representatives, as well as other representatives of the ministry and IT Park attended the event.
The goal of the “Future Skills Uzbekistan” project is to increase the number of highly qualified IT specialists through a comprehensive training program in information technology.
The project will include 3 main stage such as:
1. Professional education and training of IT specialists.
This stage consists of a comprehensive training program, such as courses on computer literacy, English, and soft skills development. Subsequently, upon completion of the computer literacy course, the participants will be introduced to the specialty, after which everyone can choose one of the following specializations for further education:
- Web development;
- development of mobile applications;
- development of mobile games;
- mobile robotics;
- graphic design;
- 3D modeling;
- IT management;
2. Assessment of competence as well as issuance of a passport on the qualifications of an IT specialist.
In order to define the level of qualifications of graduates, an independent assessment of their competence will be carried out (optional). After that, the IT specialist will be issued a qualification passport.
Within the framework of the project, the participants will not only be trained to become IT specialties, but also they will be provided by comprehensive assistance and support in their job search and employment. Additionally, various events, internships, hackathons, accelerators, incubators, contests and other activities will be organized for the project participants. Particular attention in the project will be paid to the entry of IT specialists who have been trained in the international freelance market through various platforms and aggregators.
A comprehensive training program will last 9 months and will cover 12 regions, the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan:
- Andijan region;
- Bukhara region;
- Jizzakh region;
- Kashkadarya region;
- Navoi region;
- Namangan region;
- Samarkand region;
- Syrdarya region;
- Surkhandarya region;
- Tashkent region;
- Fergana region;
- Khorezm region;
- Republic of Karakalpakstan;
- Tashkent city.
Requirements:
In order to become a member of the program, you need to be over 16 years old, not employed, as well as pass the initial selection, which will include: a test for logic, a test for minimal knowledge of computer literacy, as well as a test for knowledge of English.
The cost of the program - 400,000 soums for month.
50% of the cost of training for the unemployed and job seekers is covered by the Fund for Assistance to Employment of the Population under the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations according to allocated quotas (no more than 70% of places from the total number of project participants).
50% is covered by a potential employer or student.
30% of the students who completed the program successfully among the unemployed and job seekers, the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations will reimburse the cost of training.
