Google Cloud launches free program to train women in AI technology

Google Cloud, in cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is implementing a large-scale free educational program “Elevate” to teach women in artificial intelligence technologies.

The main purpose and objective of the program is to empower women in building and continuing a career in artificial intelligence technologies by reducing the gender gap in STEM fields.

The training will be held in English, in a mixed format, with the support of the Google Cloud team.

Students and graduates of higher educational institutions in the areas of STEM, information management, graduates of universities in the areas of business management and business informatics, as well as women and girls living in developing countries at the age of 22 and above can become participants.

Participants are required to have basic knowledge of English, computer literacy, access to a computer and the Internet.

Training takes place in two directions:

1. Technical competencies – will be divided into 3 other areas depending on the interests and experience of the program participant (Google Cloud Architecture, Data Engineering, Machine Learning and Data Processing).

2. Business competencies – a common direction for everyone (introduction to digital transformation, corporate security of the cloud environment, and so on).

“Elevate” is a free educational program to train women in artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies jointly developed by Google Cloud and the Saudi Arabia Data and AI Authority (SDAIA). The program will increase the number of jobs and reduce the gender gap in the fields of science, technology and programming (STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), especially in developing countries. In the next 5 years, it is planned to attract up to 25,000 women under the initiative.
