International Finance Corporation delegation visited IT Park

A delegation of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) led by international venture finance expert Max Gurvits visited IT Park.

The agenda put forward discussion of issues regarding development of venture funds in Uzbekistan.

At the meeting, the sides discussed the number and type of post idea startups and the most successful ones in Uzbekistan, the main market and development sources for startups in the republic.

The sides also exchanged views on the issues business ideas are facing, and discussed active foreign venture investors in Uzbekistan.

The development of venture funds and the introduction of venture investments will increase the share of the IT sector in the country's economy, which can significantly affect GDP growth and the living standards of people, sides noted.

Following the results of the meeting, participants signed an agreement, which implies active cooperation in order to support forward-looking, and knowledge-intensive startup projects, innovative ideas and further development of venture financing.
