The delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov visited the University of Stuttgart in Germany.
On the agenda is the discussion of IT-education and training of IT specialists. During the meeting, Sherzod Shermatov said that special attention is paid to IT-education in Uzbekistan. Thus, under the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, three IT universities are successfully operating, the largest of which is the Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT).
The Minister also stressed the relevance of the issue of human resources for training in the IT sector, given the high birth rate in Uzbekistan and the fact that more than 60% of the population are young people under the age of 30.
Director for International Cooperation of the University Bridget Heinz Cussiana and Dean for International Relations Tina Pazner told the guests about the history of the University of Stuttgart, as well as about current programs and directions of bachelor's and master's programs, cooperation with international universities and joint exchange programs.
Bridget Heinz Cussiana reported that in Germany, especially in Stuttgart, there is a shortage of computer science specialists, which makes it difficult for companies to train IT-specialists.
Director of IT Park Farhod Ibragimov emphasized that thanks to the cooperation of the Goethe Institute and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Uzbekistan, the country has all the opportunities to train German-speaking IT-specialists for the German market.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on cooperation in several areas. In particular, TUIT and the University of Stuttgart expressed their readiness to cooperate and sign a Memorandum in order to implement joint projects to train specialists to provide competitive IT and BPO services in the European market.
