IT Park and Korean Companies Join Forces to Develop Specialists in the Creative Industry

The IT Park office hosted a meeting with a Korean delegation led by Baek Byung Joo, CEO of IT Works Korea, and Kim Sung Joon, Chairman of the Korea Broadcast Engineers & Technicians Association (KOBETA).

Why is this important?

IT Works, a member company of IT Park, has established an office in Samarkand. Specializing in video editing, the company employs 42 professionals and exports its services to Korea and Japan.

KOBETA, founded in 1987, is the Association of Television Engineers of Korea, bringing together 27 broadcasting companies.

Key Agreements

Discussions focused on expanding opportunities for Uzbek specialists in video editing, computer graphics, VFX, and animation within international projects. Kim Sung Joon emphasized that Uzbek professionals involved in projects for Korean television networks have demonstrated a high level of expertise. IT Works Korea proposed collaboration in training specialists in graphic design, webtoon illustration, video editing, VFX, and animation for the global market.

A focal point of interest for the Korean delegation was an initiative presented by Makhliyo Muksinova, Services Export Development Director, proposing the establishment of a graphics center in Samarkand. This center would equip young professionals with advanced video production and design technologies.

“Samarkand has the potential to become a leading content hub, bringing together Uzbekistan’s creative talent and Korea’s cutting-edge technology,” noted Muksinova.

The parties reached an agreement to formalize their cooperation through a memorandum of understanding between IT Park Uzbekistan, IT Works, and KOBETA in the near future. Upon its signing, the details of the joint project will be further elaborated.

Next Steps

This prospective collaboration is poised to create new opportunities for Uzbek specialists in digital content creation. The establishment of a graphics center in Samarkand will not only strengthen Uzbekistan’s position in the global market but also provide young talents with direct access to the expertise of leading Korean experts. The initiative is expected to be a significant milestone in the country’s creative industry development.
