IT Park Strengthens Ties with China’s IT Market

A delegation from IT Park Uzbekistan, led by Director of Business Development Jakhongir Radjabov, showcased Uzbekistan’s IT sector at the “Made in Uzbekistan” pavilion during the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai.  

The China International Import Expo is dedicated to bolstering global economic integration, creating new avenues to deepen trade and economic partnerships. Participation in this exhibition enabled Uzbekistan to highlight the capabilities of its IT sector and promoted national products and services on global stage.

At the IT Park Uzbekistan stand, event attendees were introduced to the unique advantages of establishing ITes-businesses in the country. Presentations included incentives for IT Park members, such as tax benefits, administrative assistance, and efforts to advance the nation's technological infrastructure and startup ecosystem. 

Furthermore, the IT Park Uzbekistan delegation conducted a series of fruitful meetings with four prominent Chinese companies and organizations aiming to foster partnerships and expand cooperation. 

China Overseas Development Association (CODA

A meeting with representatives of CODA took place at the “Made in Uzbekistan” pavilion within the China International Import Expo. The parties discussed cooperation potential in several priority areas:

- Educational Sector: Prospects of bringing a Chinese university branch to Uzbekistan were explored.

- Attracting Companies to Uzbekistan: The parties reviewed possibilities and challenges for attracting Chinese IT and outsourcing companies, such as the absence of Chinese banks and a shortage of Chinese-speaking professionals.

- Company Engagement Plan: CODA expressed interest in IT Park’s approach to attracting Chinese companies and are open to considering their role in this process as a partner in Chinas.   

CODA is a Chinese association that supports the international expansion of Chinese enterprises, fostering global partnerships and investment opportunities.

Shanghai Alonsy 

The delegation held discussions with Shanghai Alonsy, which is keen to invest in promising startups across Dubai, China, and Hong Kong. IT Park presented the reforms enacted in Uzbekistan to accelerate the development of the startup ecosystem and attract venture investments, drawing considerable interest from the Shanghai Alonsy. The company representatives expressed enthusiasm for potential investments in Uzbekistan’s emerging startups and collaborative efforts to foster the local startup ecosystem.

Shanghai Alonsy is a Chinese venture capital firm engaged in supporting startups in various regions, including Dubai, China, and Hong Kong.

Shanghai Lingshi Information Technology 

The IT Park delegation met with Shanghai Lingshi Information Technology. Representatives of the company expressed interest in exploring the potential of Central Asian markets to expand its operations from Uzbekistan due to favorable business conditions and opportunities to leverage local resources for outsourcing IT development.

Shanghai Lingshi Information Technology is a developer of educational software, offering learning platforms for disciplines such as music and language studies.

Joyowo GEO 

The delegation also engaged with Joyowo GEO, a firm specializing in outstaffing and payroll services, at the company’s headquarters. Joyowo GEO expressed interest in securing member status at IT Park Uzbekistan, with plans to make a final decision in early 2025 after thorough analysis.

Joyowo GEO is an internationally expanding provider of outstaffing and payroll management services.
