IT Park Uzbekistan Showcases Country’s Investment Potential at European Economic Days in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan recently hosted the European Economic Days, an event organized with the support of the European Commission and the Europe-Uzbekistan Association for Economic Cooperation, the official European Chamber of Commerce for Uzbekistan. Makhliyo Muksinova, Services Export Development Director of IT Park Uzbekistan, participated in the session titled “Expanding Uzbekistan’s Capabilities: A Roundtable on Education and Capacity Building Between Academic Institutions and Industry”, which took place in the framework of the European Economic Days in Uzbekistan.

During this session, Ms. Muksinova outlined IT Park Uzbekistan’s strategic initiatives aimed at advancing the technological and outsourcing sectors within country, emphasizing the importance of linguistic proficiency and technical competencies among youth for enhancing the country’s competitiveness and achieving its strategic objectives. Representatives from ministries and organizations responsible for professional development and education also took part in the discussion.   

Ms. Muksinova underscored the significance of international partnerships in driving Uzbekistan’s digital development, stating, “Collaborations with international organizations open new avenues for innovation and bolster our competitiveness on the global stage”.

Following her address, Makhliyo Muksinova engaged in discussions with Sara Rinaldi, Head of the Middle East and Central Asia Unit within the Directorate-General for International Partnerships of the European Commission. Their dialogue centered on potential areas for cooperation and collaborative projects aimed at fostering digital technology advancements in Uzbekistan. Ms. Muksinova presented in detail the operations of IT Park Uzbekistan and highlighted the unique opportunities it offers international partners, to strengthen Uzbekistan’s standing in the global digital arena.

Sara Rinaldi commended Uzbekistan’s potential in digitalization, expressing a keen interest in projects related to activity monitoring and other digital technologies. At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to further collaboration, with Ms. Rinaldi proposing connections with colleagues and European Commission cooperation management for a more in-depth exploration of future projects.

These engagements unlock new prospects for cooperation between IT Park Uzbekistan and the European Commission, establishing a robust foundation for innovative projects and supporting international partnerships within the digital technology sector.
