The delegation held discussions with the founder of Daythree, Mr. Raymond Devadass, to explore potential collaboration in IT service provision.
Mr. Devadass expressed a keen interest in Uzbekistan’s pool of multilingual talent, with plans to conduct several interviews with candidates. Furthermore, IT Park representatives introduced the country's regions, along with the Zero Risk program, which enables foreign companies to launch operations in Uzbekistan with minimal investment.
Mr. Devadass conveyed his interest in exploring the Uzbek market and conducting a follow-up business visit in the near future.
Daythree Digital Berhad, established in 2016, is a Malaysian investment holding company specializing in global business services (GBS) with a focus on customer experience (CX) lifecycle management. Headquartered in Shah Alam, Malaysia, Daythree employs approximately 2,000 professionals.
Ministry of Digital Technology, Malaysia
The Uzbek delegation, including the Director of the IT Park Syrdarya branch and Mr. Abduqodir Babaev, Head of the Ministry of Digital Technology’s Syrdarya office, held a meeting with Mr. Fabian Bigar, the Secretary-General of Malaysia’s Ministry of Digital Technology.
Mr. Bigar emphasized Uzbekistan’s potential to serve as a strategic hub for digital projects, given its advantageous geographic positioning, and underscored the value of formalizing cooperation, notably through MDEC and IT Park Uzbekistan. The Uzbek delegation presented outlined IT Park’s ongoing programs and investment attraction strategies.
It was agreed to draft a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at supporting digital investments and economic growth through combined efforts.
Scicom (MSC) Berhad
During discussions with Scicom (MSC) Berhad, led by founder Dato' Sri Leo Ariyanayakam, the delegation highlighted avenues for collaboration, including potential joint initiatives with IT Park members in the fields of business services and outsourcing, enhancing the positions of both parties in international markets.
The Scicom team also expressed an interest in establishing a regional office in Uzbekistan to deliver IT and business services to its client base and corporate headquarters, with plans for a future delegation visit to assess opportunities in Uzbekistan.
Founded in 1997, Scicom (MSC) Berhad is a major Malaysian corporation specializing in customer lifecycle management, e-commerce, digital marketing, Gov-Tech, and educational services. As of 2023, Scicom employs over 4,000 professionals, with its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The company is expanding its international presence, with operations in Indonesia, the UK and Sri Lanka.
These meetings and discussions present new avenues for attracting foreign investments, facilitating the establishment of regional offices for international enterprises, and fostering Uzbekistan’s startup ecosystem. Partnerships with prominent companies such as Daythree and Scicom will contribute to the creation of new employment opportunities, the advancement of local talent, and the establishment of Uzbekistan as a regional hub for IT services and outsourcing.
