On May 3, Digital.uz Chess Cup tournament took place among employees of IT companies aimed at strengthening corporate culture, fostering strategic thinking and promoting intellectual sports. The event was organized by the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and IT Park Uzbekistan.
The “Digital.uz Chess Cup” featured both individual and team competitions, designed to identify the most accomplished strategists among IT professionals. The tournament served as a platform where participants showcased advanced logical reasoning, rapid decision-making capabilities, and strong analytical skills.
Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov and CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan Abdulakhad Kuchkarov attended the event.
Among the tournament’s participants were CEOs, senior executives, developers, system administrators, analysts, and project managers — creating a unique environment that combined intellectual rivalry with collaborative spirit.
Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, emphasized:
“Our goal is not only to create a favorable ecosystem for IT business development but also to build a robust, cohesive professional community. The ‘Digital.uz Chess Cup’ exemplifies how intellectual sports can inspire, connect, and motivate individuals to grow and achieve new milestones.”
Hosted at the International Chess Academy in Tashkent, the tournament brought together 59 teams and 118 participants representing member companies of IT Park and departments of the Ministry of Digital Technologies. Among them were leading experts in digital transformation, software engineering, cybersecurity, and national IT infrastructure development.
Prize Pool
Sirojiddin Masharipov claimed first place and was awarded a MacBook Pro. Jahongir Anasov secured second place, receiving a Xiaomi Navee S65 electric scooter, while Saidbek Kadamboev took third place and was presented with a 65-inch Samsung smart TV.
In the team competition, the winners were recognized as follows:
1st place — Tashkent University of Information Technologies received the top award: a Dyson Purifier Cool TP07 air purifier.
2nd place — RPG Team was awarded a DeLonghi ECAM automatic coffee machine.
3rd place — Team Beeline team was presented with a 65-inch Samsung Smart TV.
Chess is a game that shapes the mind. The “Digital.uz Chess Cup” served not only as a sporting event, but also as a meaningful contribution to the advancement of digital culture, uniting Uzbekistan’s IT community around intellectual values and a strategic approach to challenges.
