Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited IT Park

On November 20, 2021, the Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov visited IT Park to study in detail the activities that are carried out by the organization.

First Deputy Minister for Digital Economy and Electronic Government Oleg Pekos, Deputy Minister for Investment and Finance Jamshid Egamberdiev, as well as Director of IT Park Farhod Ibragimov, deputy directors and others have also attended the meeting.

During the visit, first, the IT Park complex under construction was presented to the Minister. Working on the creation of a modern complex started at the beginning of last year. 17 buildings will be built in stages, including 20-25-storey office buildings, a university, a conference hall, a coworking center and other facilities. The first stage of the construction of the IT complex is planned to be completed in the second quarter of 2022. Full completion of construction is planned by the end of 2024. Particularly, the Minister was also given a short excursion directly across the construction site itself.


The minister was familiarized with the tasks and projects being implemented in IT Park and the main priority areas on which the organization places great emphasis, in particular: education, startup ecosystem, residency, infrastructure, export and popularization of the information technology sphere among society.

Today 496 IT companies have become the residents of IT Park, which are mainly engaged in the production of software products and provide services in the field of information technology. 18 companies were created because of attracting foreign capital. It should be noted that IT Park residents are exempt from tax and customs payments until January 1, 2028.

Deputy directors, heads of IT Park departments, responsible for each direction, spoke about existing projects, as well as voiced proposals for the development of directions, the implementation of new large-scale projects, as well as about existing problems and options for their solution.

The Minister, in his turn, reacted positively to the proposals for the implementation of projects in each of the directions and showed interest and readiness in support and assistance from the Ministry.
