More than 1 million people will be able to get free IT-education

On October 25, within the framework of the IT-Education forum, a meeting was held between the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, IT Park and Coursera Inc.

The meeting was attended by the Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov, Director of IT Park Uzbekistan Farhod Ibragimov, Deputy Director of IT Park for Digital Education Abdulahad Kuchkarov, as well as Director of Business Development in Central Asia Coursera Eduard Kan.

The parties discussed the prospects for expanding cooperation in the field of IT-education.

In particular, an agreement was reached to sign a memorandum, according to which, from 2023, 1.2 million boys and girls will be able to take online courses in 3 main areas of IT (frontend, Python course, IT-English) on the Coursera educational platform.

Thus, more than a million people from Uzbekistan will have the opportunity to receive free online education, learn modern knowledge and become holders of certificates from Coursera.

It is worth noting that Coursera is an international open online education platform that offers a set of information and educational programs, including interactive projects with industry experts, courses, specializations, certification programs, and also cooperates with world leading companies and universities, such as Illinois,  Duke, Google, IBM, Stanford, Imperial College London, etc.
