Navruz Hackathon 2025: Innovation, Technology, and Sustainable Development

Inha University in Tashkent and IT Park Uzbekistan, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, successfully hosted the Navruz Hackathon 2025 — a premier spring competition for developers focused on creating cutting-edge technological solutions in the fields of sustainable development, artificial intelligence, and digital innovation.

Event Highlights

The hackathon commenced with 113 participants forming 43 teams. Over the course of three days, these teams worked diligently to develop innovative projects under the mentorship of renowned experts, including:

  • Alexey Volkov — Specialist in Green Technologies
  • Prof. Oybek Eraliev — Professor of Artificial Intelligence (INHA)

Following a rigorous competition, 32 teams advanced to the semifinals, with 24 top teams ultimately competing in the finals. The projects were evaluated by a distinguished jury panel comprising:

  • Prof. Ahmed Minhaz — Artificial Intelligence Expert
  • Umida Khamidova — Specialist in Software Development
  • Roman Dovolnov — Head of Climate Change and Sustainability Services | EY Uzbekistan

Navruz Hackathon 2025 Winners

🥇 1st Place Horizon

Solution: The team developed a prototype that repurposes cooling fans from outdated computers to generate electricity. The project focuses on sustainable development and innovative energy solutions.
🎁 Prize: HP Pavilion 15 Silver R3-5300 laptops

🥈 2nd Place Feba

Solution: An automated system for monitoring food products nearing expiration, designed to minimize food waste and offer discounted items to consumers.
🎁 Prize: Hyper X HASTE 2 + Keychron K8 Pro TKL professional keyboards and computer mice

🥉 3rd Place EDev

Solution: A platform for automated monitoring of landfill sites and optimized waste management.

🎁 Prize: Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 humidifiers

The event concluded with inspiring remarks from Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, CEO of IT Park, and Bobur Abdullaev, Rector of Inha University, both highlighting the importance of such initiatives in fostering the country’s technological ecosystem.
