In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 28, 2020 in accordance with paragraph 14 of the “Road Map” for further development of the Technological Park of Software and Information Technology, approved by the Resolution No. PP-4699, it is planned to establish regional branches of (IT-Park) the Technological Park of Software and Information Technology in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khorezm, Namangan and Syrdarya regions and today branches have been launched in Margilan, Andijan, Gulistan and Jizzakh.
Today the regional branch of IT-Park has been launched in Samarkand in the 2-storey building on Amir Temur Street 44.
The total land area of the object is about 1 hectare, the building area is 1118 square. During August-December of this year, the building was constructed and decorated, and now it is fully equipped. The building consists of coworking space, office space for residents and startups, information and communication technology training room, robotics, cybersports, meeting rooms, conference hall, interview area, cafe and other ancillary rooms.
There are 1,679.5 thousand young people in Samarkand region (from 7 to 30 years old), and in recent years a number of effective measures have been taken to direct them to the field of information and communication technologies. The Samarkand regional branch of IT-Park, which is being established today, will also attract young people to this field, provide them with a number of benefits to businesses operating in the field, create opportunities for them to work more widely and effectively, develop products and projects in the field of information and communication technologies. acts as a bridge for the implementation of startups, sectors of the economy and other sectors.
The branch cooperates with legal entities operating in the field of information and communication technologies in the region, higher education institutions, and also a school specialized in informatics and information technology, which is currently being established on the basis of secondary school No. 9 in Samarkand.
Furthermore, the branch has IT Centers in each city and district of the region. Till this day, these centers have been established in 6 cities and districts. By the end of this year, IT Centers will be opened in 4 more cities and districts. These centers operate in the field of information and communication technologies, robotics and cybersport. Particularly, the centers will organize trainings on the project “One Million Programmers”, implemented jointly by Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates.
The establishment of the branch contributed to the idea of launching 50 new IT enterprises, 200 new jobs and more than 100 startup projects in the region.
