On July 21, as part of a business trip to Uzbekistan, Plug&Play Germany Managing Director Sascha Karimpur and Corporate Partnerships Manager Felix Lammers met with Olimjon Umarov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Aloqa Bank, Sukhrob Gaibulloev, Director of Aloqa Ventures, and Project Manager IT Park Zaynab Atabaeva.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the cooperation on opening a Plug&Play office in Uzbekistan. According to foreign partners, the representative office in Uzbekistan will recruit and select startups, which will be assisted in attracting venture capital, grow and contact large corporations.
The parties of the meeting emphasized that the creation of such a unique ecosystem in Uzbekistan will be an additional opportunity for young startups to have projects that have reached the Unicorn level.
On May 2, 2022, IT Park Director Farhod Ibragimov visited one of the Plug&Play offices in Stuttgart, Germany, where he met with Seena Amidi, Co-head of Plug&Play EMEA, Sascha Karimpour, Managing director of Plug&Play Germany and Felix Lammers Corporate Partnerships Manager. During the meeting, the parties discussed the opening of a new platform. The plans were soon approved and finalized, and now the Plug&Play company officially opens its representative office in Tashkent.
New location will help create more opportunities for local corporations and agencies to interact closely with startups, moreover, accelerate the development of the startup ecosystem in the region. Collaboration with Plug&Play will also help startups expand internationally as they can access a global network of over 40 locations around the world.
