On January 26 at 14:00, a webinar organized by UzDIF and IT Park took place. Representatives from the European venture company PortfoLion shared insights into their investment prospects for fostering promising IT projects in Uzbekistan.
The objective of the event was to identify local partners among emerging companies engaged in innovative, technological, and/or digital projects.
PortfoLion specialists outlined proposals to enhance companies' capitalization and attract foreign investments into the Uzbek economy. They also elaborated on the criteria for selecting potential projects capable of bolstering the technological development of the country.
Webinar participants discussed the potential of investment projects and expressed interest in their financing from foreign investors. For local IT companies, the webinar provided a unique opportunity to familiarize themselves with investors' preferences firsthand, secure international funding, and explore new avenues for business and technological sector development in Uzbekistan and beyond.
The event garnered significant interest, with companies posing questions for 45 minutes. Upon webinar conclusion, companies took advantage of the opportunity to submit their projects to UzDIF and PortfoLion.
It is worth noting that PortfoLion offers financial support ranging from 0.5 to 30.0 million euros, acquiring both minority and majority stakes in these companies. The company provides industrial expertise, aiding in optimizing business processes, developing products and services, and identifying strategic partners. Additionally, PortfoLion supports companies in their international market expansion. UzDIF is a local financial consultant and co-investor for PortfoLion.
