Press conference on the issues of “ICTWEEK Uzbekistan 2022” was held at AIMC

On October 18, a press conference was held at the Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the participation of the Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov, the First Deputy Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications Oleg Pekos, the leadership of subordinate organizations of the Ministry, in which  IT Park director Farhod Ibragimov took part.

The press conference was dedicated to one of the main events of the year the week of information and communication technologies ICTWEEK Uzbekistan 2022, which will be held in Samarkand on October 24-27.

As Sherzod Khotamovich noted in his speech, the ICT Week is aimed at further stimulating the development of information and communication technologies, the information security and software market, demonstrating the achievements, opportunities and benefits achieved as a result of the introduction of the digital economy and the Electronic Government system in the republic,  as well as discussion of practical results and development trends in the field.

The new international tourist center Silk Road Samarqand will become a meeting place for large foreign and local companies, where participants will present their new technological solutions.

The ICT Week – “ICTWEEK” has been held annually since 2004.  Over the past 18 years, this event has traditionally combined a number of specialized events into a single format.

This year, the following events will be held as part of ICTWEEK Uzbekistan 2022:

  • Summit ICTWEEK Uzbekistan an event aimed at discussing the results achieved and reforms in the field of IT in Uzbekistan;
  • Forum Digital Eurasia, aimed at discussing key issues and reforms in the field of information technology; 
  • Exhibition ICTEXPO a demonstration of national and international developments and achievements in the field of ICT;
  • BPO Summit where leading international IT companies will share their experience in business process outsourcing.
  • IT-Education Summit where participants will discuss the implementation of world experience in the field of IT-education;
  • “CIO SUMMIT” a meeting of government organizations and NGOs in the field of ICT.

The week also includes:

  • The next joint meeting of the Council of Heads of Communications Administrations of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications and the Information and Coordination Council of the CIS Member States (Council meeting dedicated to the 30th anniversary);
  • The next meeting of the heads of ministries and departments responsible for the ICT sector, member states of the Organization of Turkic States;
  • Seminar of the International Telecommunication Union for the CIS countries on the topic “Development of digital ecosystems through digital transformation”.

More than 100 foreign and local companies are expected to participate in the ICTEXPO exhibition, which will be held on a total area of ​​4000 sq.

More than 60 large foreign companies will take part in the event, such as: Meta, Plug and Play, Nokia, ZTE, Huawei, IT Park, Innotech, Yandex, Uzcard, Payme, Uztelecom, Uzinfocom, Unicon, Astana hub, residents of IT Park and IT Park of the Republic of Belarus, as well as local large companies.
