The Startup Story edition continues to tell the stories about various kinds of projects and the history behind these initiatives. This time IT Park is glad to introduce the “Where to go” project and one of its founders, Artur Imamutdinov.
Arthur is 22 years old. He works as a frontend developer. As he notes, the idea to launch the project came spontaneously.
“In March of this year, we took part in the ASTRUMHACK 2022 hackathon. According to the rules, the participants united in small teams and had to come up with their own project. Then our team thought “why not create such a startup?” That’s how the project “Where to go” was born.”
Where to go is a service that allows users to find events or places based on their personal preferences.
There are 4 people in the project team, each of them has their own contribution: a backend developer, two frontend developers and a project manager.
“Now we are running the Telegram bot and a channel in test mode. Our service is intended for tourists and people who prefer an active lifestyle. The service helps to adapt to a new place.”
The benefit of a startup, Arthur continues, is to bring people together.
The project team strives to highlight the activities of communities of interest in the first place, so that users can choose how they spend their leisure time.
“Despite the fact that the project is still quite young, our goal is to go global. We strive to make sure that each person can find what he is interested in, so that he creates a circle of like-minded people. Plus, it's a great way to make new connections."
As Arthur notes, the team did not receive funding for the development of a startup.
“Since the project itself appeared not so long ago, all attention was focused on process, so there was no search for investments. But now we are participating in the AloqaTechLab incubator and we believe that this platform will open up great opportunities for us.”
Now, Arthur continues, the team is actively moving towards personalization. Creating a superapp in the future is ahead.
“Like other startups, we set goals. The next stage that our project is striving for is to make it possible to organize events with the help of the service we created, and to make the process easy.”
For novice startup founders, Arthur advices them not to give up.
“I am sure that most of the startups wanted to quit even brilliant, at first glance, projects, but still went on with tackling obstacles. It is important. Remember: believe in yourself and never back down!”
