In mid-July, the CAREC University-Industry Engagement Program (UIEP) was launched with the support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The program involved pre-seed level startup teams from leading universities in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia:
- International Westminster University in Tashkent
- Azerbaijan State University of Economics
- Almaty Management University
- Georgian-American University
Participants underwent a two-week in-person program and had the opportunity to travel and explore the startup ecosystem, participate in seminars, pitching sessions, mentorship sessions, as well as networking events in these four countries.
At the conclusion of the program, three startups fully supported by the innoWIUT Entrepreneurship Lab under the authority WIUT received the following awards:
- Startup "GBoost": Award for product development
- Startup "Kutma": Award for social services solution
- Startup "360 Vision": Award for virtual transformation
About the program:
The Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) program brings together 11 countries and partners working together to promote economic growth and development in the region. CAREC UIEP is a key initiative of the program aimed at stimulating innovation and entrepreneurship among young talents in the region.
