Tashkent hosts Open Data Challenge hackathon

From January 26 to 28, the Open Data Challenge hackathon will be held at the “New Uzbekistan” University, organized by IT Park in collaboration with the OSCE Project Co-rdinator in Uzbekistan and Virtual Group, with the support of the Agency of Statistics and the Anti-Corruption Agency.

Open Data Challenge is an annual hackathon dedicated to the development of technological solutions using open data.

The competition aims to realize the social and economic potential of state and municipal open data, create a professional community in the subject area, and develop relevant competencies for government and municipal authorities, as well as hackathon participants.

Technological solutions are expected to be presented in one of the following categories:

  • Public Sector
  • Social Sector
  • Business Sector
  • Anti-corruption

The hackathon is open to all comers. Participants will be required to take part in all events, develop digital solutions (applications, services, devices) using open data, and submit their code on the GitHub platform. Applications are accepted both individual and team (up to three people in a team).

The event will include preliminary competitions in four key areas, specialized workshops featuring industry experts on the utilization of open data, as well as 4 online webinars and 1 offline masterclass on open data before the hackathon.
