Tatarstan’s President visited the IT Park Uzbekistan complex

On October 11, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov as part of a working visit to Uzbekistan got acquainted with the development and opportunities created in Uzbekistan’s ICT sector particularly by visiting the IT Park Uzbekistan complex.

First Deputy Minister for ICT Development Oleg Pekos spoke about the measures taken by the Ministry of ICT to digitalize all sectors of the economy, involve more young people and increase job opportunities in the sector.

CEO of IT Park Farhod Ibragimov, in turn, described the concept of the organization, measures taken to develop the startup ecosystem, IT education, and support for IT entrepreneurship.

Presentations put particular emphasis on the potential of Uzbekistan in BPO and IT services export.

The parties also discussed the prospects for strengthening cooperation between the republics, including partnership and promoting projects in IT, as well as the potential of Innopolis and IT Park Kazan residents to enter the Uzbek market.

As part of the visit to IT Park, the delegation also visited Aloqabank’s new office. The guest got interested in the development of venture funding in Uzbekistan, and the activity of the venture fund AloqaVentures in particular.

Following the meeting, representatives of the Tatarstan delegation emphasized the positive dynamics in the IT development of Uzbekistan and expressed their readiness to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the sector.
