A delegation led by Ma Bin, Vice President of Tencent - one of China's largest technology companies – visited IT Park Uzbekistan to discuss potential areas of cooperation. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, and the CEO of IT Park, Abdulahad Kuchkarov, who spoke about the priority areas for transforming Uzbekistan into a regional IT hub.
Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Shenzhen, Tencent is one of the world's largest IT companies, operating across sectors such as multimedia, gaming, social networks, music, internet services, e-commerce, digital payments, and mobile applications.
At the beginning of the visit, a presentation was made on the functions and capabilities of IT Park. The delegation also got acquainted with the digital infrastructure of Uzinfocom.
Discussions covered the tax incentives available to IT Park residents, measures aimed at increasing IT export capacity, and opportunities for international technology companies to establish a presence in Uzbekistan.
Special attention was devoted to cooperation in digital education, professional training, and the development of the national human resource base in the ICT sector.
Tencent representatives shared insights into the company's technological solutions, including smart city concepts, cloud services, big data analytics, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
Additional areas of potential cooperation discussed included online gaming, social media, fintech, and digital media platforms.
The talks also featured proposals to open a Tencent representative office in Uzbekistan, initiate IT outsourcing services, carry out joint telecommunications projects, and explore access to regional markets through Uzbekistan.
