The capital will host the Startup Summit

On October 24, the first day of ICTWEEK UZBEKISTAN 2023, the Startup Summit will take place.

The objective of the event is to acquaint guests with the startup ecosystem of Uzbekistan, showcasing the top startups, investors, and innovative companies in the region.

As part of the event, presentations by invited experts from abroad are planned.

The opening of the Startup Summit will feature a speech by Jahongir Rajabov, Deputy CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan for Innovation, who will share his vision for the development of Uzbekistanʼs startup community.

Key events of the event:

• Launch of the Startup Base platform, which will be elucidated by Jahongir Kagirov, Head of the Startup Ecosystem Development Department at IT Park Uzbekistan.
• Panel discussion on “Opening Uzbekistanʼs Startup Ecosystem: Attracting Venture Capital and Expanding Global Reach.“ The moderator for this discussion will be Asset Abdulaliyev, Co-founder of Silk Road Innovation Hub. Participants in the discussion will include:

• George Held — CEO of Veon AdTech
• Felix Lammers — CEO of Plug and Play Uzbekistan
• Jahongir Rajabov — Deputy General Director of IT Park Uzbekistan for Innovation
• Alexander Likhtman — Founder of ITCOMMS

• Presentation by Robin Butler, Partner and Head of Sturgeon Capital, on “10-Year Opportunities for the Venture Ecosystem in Uzbekistan.“
• “EBRD Star Venture” program, by Sherzod Akbarov, General Manager of EBRD Uzbekistan.
• “Swift Launch” program by Sturgeon Capital, Steven Lin, Venture Partner at Sturgeon Capital.
• “International Assessment of the Startup and Venture Sector of Central Asia” by Adrien Henni, Executive Director of Alliance-Tech.eu.

The concluding stage of the event will involve F2F meetings between international venture funds and local startups, fostering favorable conditions for future investments and collaborations.
