The IT Park Showroom hosted an informal meeting of the Minister for the development of information technologies and communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sadikov Shukhrat Mukhamadzhanovich, with media representatives

On October 24, 2020, the Ministry for the development of information technologies and communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan held an open, informal meeting with representatives of the media and bloggers in the IT Park showroom, which was also attended by the Minister for the development of information technologies and communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sadikov Shukhrat Mukhamadzhanovich, First Deputy Minister for the development of information technologies and communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan on digital economy and e-government, Pekos Oleg Andreevich, Director of IT Park, Farhod Ibragimov Zahirovich and others.

During the meeting, media representatives were provided with information about the ongoing work in information and communication technologies.

The fact that 2020 was named the year of development of science, education, and the digital economy shows how much attention is paid to information and communication technologies. By this, a roadmap for all digital reforms was developed.

By the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 2, 2020, "On the state program for the implementation of The strategy of action for five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan 2017-2021 in the "Year of development of science, education and the digital economy," one of the priority areas is to provide social facilities with high – speed Internet - 80% of secondary schools, 100% of preschool educational institutions and health facilities.

This, in turn, plays a vital role in getting young people up-to-date knowledge, providing citizens with high-quality and prompt services.

Based on this, large-scale work is being carried out to develop the telecommunications infrastructure of the Republic. To date, 800,000 broadband Internet access ports have been installed, bringing their total number to 2.8 million units. Also, 11 thousand kilometers of fiber-optic communication lines have been laid, and work is underway to expand them.

Another essential condition for the consistent development of information and communication technologies is creating comfortable conditions for the production of competitive products and services, their promotion in the domestic and foreign markets, and the promotion of innovative developments.

IT Park was created for this purpose. Currently, 364 IT companies are residents of IT Park. Since the beginning of the year, IT Park residents have created 750 new jobs. The volume of software products and services produced amounted to 346.2 billion souls, and exports amounted to 8.4 million dollars.

Together with a foreign expert, we developed a concept for the construction of IT Park infrastructure facilities with a total area of 408 thousand square meters, which will increase the number of IT Park residents. Agreements were signed with local khokimiyats on the organization of territorial branches of IT Park residents, and network schedules of tasks performed for each project were approved.

Regional branches of IT Park have already been launched in Andijan, Margilan, Ferghana region, and Gulistan. Today, ten residents operate in the Andijan branch of IT Park, and 7 in Margilan. Work is also underway to build components of IT Park in Namangan with a total area of 5.8 thousand square meters, Samarkand (12 thousand square meters), Urgench (16 thousand square meters).)

Following the meeting held in the newly built IT Park Showroom, media representatives were able to ask their questions and get detailed answers from the Minister for the development of information technologies and communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sadikov Shukhrat Mukhamadzhanovich, First Deputy Minister for the development of information technologies and communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan on digital economy and e-government, Oleg Pekos, Director of IT Park, Ibragimov Farhod Zairovich and other invited representatives of organizations and companies.

At the end of the meeting, Shukhrat Mukhamadzhanovich personally conducted a tour of the Showroom for media representatives. He showed and told about all the features of the showroom and other activities taking place in the building.
