On December 4, 2020, there was an opening of the incubation center at the Tashkent Financial Institute in collaboration with IT Park.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Director of IT Park Farhod Ibragimov, the rector of the university Tulkin Teshabaev, the coordinator of the incubation center Nargiz Kasimov, as well as the founders of “OSON” and “BILLZ” startups Farkhod Makhmudov and Rustam Khamdamov.
During the opening ceremony, the founder of the “OSON” startup, Farkhod Makhmudov, shared his thoughts about the initiative to open incubation centers at universities, and how this will influence on the development of startups among students.
Furthermore, the founder of the “BILLZ” project, Rustam Khamdamov, made a short presentation on what a startup is, and told the audience about the things one must go through in order to implement his projects successfully.
The main goal of the incubation center at the Tashkent Financial Institute is to develop a startup ecosystem at the institute, identify talented undergraduate and graduate students who show the ability to innovative project activities, as well as organize the process of commercializing innovative and entrepreneurial ideas.
It is worth reminding that incubation centers at higher educational institutions are necessary in order to increase both the quality and quantity of innovative projects among talented youth. Incubation centers, in their own turn, will create favorable conditions for students for the emergence of effective activities of small innovative projects that implement original scientific and technical ideas.
Till this day, incubation centers have already been opened at 6 universities such as: Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, the Branch of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics in Tashkent, Tashkent State Economic University, Inha University in Tashkent, Amity University in Tashkent, Tashkent Financial Institute. These Universities are already in the process of recruiting applications for start-up projects for their further development.
In the near future, incubation centers are expected to operate at Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, Singapore Institute for Management Development in Tashkent, Uzbek State University of World Languages, Webster University in Tashkent and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
