The outcomes of the IT Park delegationʼs visit to Singapore

IT Park delegation visited Singapore on a working visit. The purpose of the visit was to establish cooperation and promote information about Uzbekistanʼs opportunities in the field of IT outsourcing and startup exports.

From October 31 to November 2, the delegation participated in the “Singapore Week of Innovations and Technologies” (SWITCH) exhibition, which brought together leading representatives in the technology industry, entrepreneurs, accelerators, investors, and startups from around the world.

The exhibition hosted more than 9,000 participants and 5,700 organizations from 102 countries worldwide.

Participants of the exhibition were introduced to the evolving information technology market of Uzbekistan and the new opportunities provided by IT Park for export-oriented companies. The focus was also on the incentives and preferences available for IT companies. Special attention was given to the significance and potential of young professionals in the field of information technology.

Furthermore, the SWITCH conference featured presentations from global experts in startups and venture capital, including Gary Tan, the president of the world-renowned Y Combinator accelerator, and others.

Representatives from IT Parkʼs resident IT product companies, Workly, Express24, and Realsoft, were also present at the IT Park booth. They actively promoted their products and services for entry into the markets of Southeast Asian countries.

On November 2, as part of the SWITCH Global event, which included speakers from Taiwan, Brazil, Japan, Korea, and Canada, a session titled “Market Access: Uzbekistan” was conducted. During this session, opportunities for companies in the IT and outsourcing sectors in Uzbekistan were discussed. Jakhongir Kagirov, the Head of the Startup Ecosystem Development Department at IT Park, delivered a presentation on the digital technology sector in Uzbekistan, the conditions for IT companies, and the development of the startup ecosystem in the country.

Furthermore, representatives from Workly and Realsoft conducted presentations of their products and services, thereby introducing conference participants to the capabilities of their companies and attracting the attention of potential clients and partners. Workly presented an innovative solution for personnel management, while Realsoft showcased cutting-edge software development technologies. Both companies received positive feedback and garnered interest from event attendees.

On November 3, the conference “Uzbekistan — the New Outsourcing Destination” took place, organized by IT Park in collaboration with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Singapore, the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Singapore Business Federation, Enterprise Singapore, Plug and Play APAC, Singapore Fintech Association, and Singapore Fintech Hub.

The event was held at the premises of the Singapore Fintech Hub and gathered over 50 representatives from Singaporean companies in the field of information technology and business processes, as well as representatives from venture funds and accelerators.

The conference commenced with welcoming remarks from Miraskar Magrupov, Trade and Economic Counselor of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Singapore; Joyce Kua, Deputy Director of Enterprise Singapore; and Rey Kwan, Director of Singapore Business Federation.

Jakhongir Kagirov presented information about the IT ecosystem in Uzbekistan, including opportunities for market entry, outsourcing, and outstaffing from Uzbekistan. He also discussed the Zero Risk program and explained the tax incentives provided to IT Park residents.

Following the conference, B2B meetings were arranged, during which representatives and residents of IT Park engaged in negotiations with Singaporean partners. Agreements were reached regarding the establishment of representations in Uzbekistan by companies such as UNIPRO SOFTWARE, Skubbs, Risin Ventures, G7G International, and the implementation of startup ecosystem support programs in the region in collaboration with NGarde.
