The Regional CAREC Bootcamp took place in Tashkent

From August 20th to 30th, with the support of the Asian Development Bank, a Regional CAREC Bootcamp is being conducted in Astana, Tashkent, and Baku for startups from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan. The event is organized with the participation of IT Park Uzbekistan in collaboration with Astana Hub and Next Step Innovation.

The program encompasses seminars on market analysis, customer base development, legal matters, investment attraction strategies, and numerous other aspects. As part of the event, participants become acquainted with innovation centers, visit landmarks in the three capitals, and prominent IT companies to immerse fully in the innovation ecosystem.

In Tashkent, the bootcamp took place from August 24th to 26th. The first day was dedicated to conducting workshops featuring presentations by the following speakers:

  • Iskandar Kurbanov — Venture Analyst at Plug and Play, shared his expertise on the topic of “Customer Base Development”;
  • Denis Kalyshkin — Investment Director at I2BF Global Ventures, delivered a presentation on “Market Size”;
  • Abdul Sharafiy — Investor at Aloqa Ventures, discussed effective ways of customer interaction;
  • Saiful Islam — Director at Creed and Culture, shared information about investment relationships.

In the evening, a networking dinner took place, bringing together venture funds, local startups, and the Director of the ABR Representative Office in Uzbekistan, Kanokpan Lao-Araya.

 

The second day in Tashkent was devoted to excursions to various innovation centers: INNO Innovative Training and Production Technopark, C-Space Coworking, Dibo Innovation Hub, IT Park, Aloqa Ventures, and Plug&Play.

The event concluded on September 26th with the hosting of the Demo Day, during which participants showcased their projects to experts and venture funds.
