The results of applications for the President Tech Award competition have been summarised

The acceptance of applications for 5 key areas of a large-scale competition in the field of IT startups – the President Tech Award with a prize fund of $1 million has been completed.

In order to attract more youth, representatives of IT Park organized presentations of the competition in all schools and educational institutions of Uzbekistan. To raise awareness of the event, an extensive PR campaign was launched, including informative videos featuring famous artists and bloggers, billboards in various regions, posters in universities and the subway, as well as other measures.

Several partner companies, including Google and MasterCard, as well as Gyeongbuk Technopark and KOICA, will help with the project evaluation stage of the President Tech Award startup competition.

A record number of participants registered for the competition – over 4,000 people. Of them: 

  • Tashkent c. – 33%
  •  Tashkent region – 9.3%
  •  Fergana – 8.2%
  •  Kashkadarya – 7.5%
  •  Samarkand – 6.5 %
  •  Bukhara – 5.5 %
  •  Andijan – 5.4%
  •  Other regions – 24.6%

Among the participants, 12.2% are women, 87.8% are men. The average age of the participants was 21.7 years old.

To date, more than 150 teams have applied for a special direction – Hackathon, the admission continues.

The prize fund of the competition will be distributed as follows:

For each category of the main direction:

 1st place — $100,000;

 2nd place — $50,000;

 3rd place — $30,000.

For the hackathon Grand Prix (special direction) – $100,000 (one winner).

Recall that the call for applications started on May 1, 2023 and lasted for two months. Ahead of the contestants are waiting for the following stages of the competition:

  • Pre-selection – until July 25;
  • Bootcamp – seminars, master classes and networking meetings with experts – in August;
  • Online evaluation of selected projects – from September 5 to October 5;
  • Offline evaluation (Demo Day) and hackathon – from November 5 to 10;
  • Determination and awarding of winners – November 20 – December 25.

Bootcamp is an important part of the President Tech Award competition, providing participants with a platform to develop and expand their projects and ideas. This event provides opportunities to make new contacts, gain valuable knowledge and support from experts, mentors and successful entrepreneurs in the field of start-ups. Within the framework of Bootcamp, participants can communicate with like-minded people, find potential partners and receive valuable advice from professionals in various fields. It also provides acquaintance with mentors and successful founders of startups who can help in the development and implementation of projects. The event is scheduled for the period from August 7 to 19 and will be held in Tashkent, Fergana and Samarkand.
