Two branches of IT Park hosted advanced training courses for artisans

On August 29 and 30, advanced training courses for artisans took place at IT Park branches in Fergana and Namangan regions.

The courses were organized by the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan as part of the implementation of Presidential Decree No. 77 “On measures to further improve the support system for handicraft activities”.

In total, 16 people in Ferghana and 15 in Namangan registered for participation.

Representatives of IT Park, the Center for Digital Economy Research, the Center for E-Government Project Management and the international company NOVICA told the audience about the trading platforms Ebay, Etsy, NOVICA and Amazon.

During the training course participants learned how to register on the platforms and how to use them. In addition, they were taught how to sell handicraft products at these marketplaces. Such courses will help artisans enter the international market, which will have a positive impact on the development and promotion of the national craftsmanship of Uzbekistan.

Recall that Presidential Decree No. 77 “On measures to further improve the system for supporting handicraft activities” entered into force on December 30, 2021. According to the document, since 2022, a procedure has been introduced for allocating subsidies at the expense of the Fund for Attracting the Population to Entrepreneurship in the amount of:

• artisans teaching crafts to young people on the basis of the “master-aprentice” tradition – at least twice the amount of the MW monthly for 6 months to train students, purchase the necessary raw materials and provide students with wages;

• for students - 50% of the cost of purchasing tools and equipment necessary to start independent activities, in the part not exceeding twenty-five times the amount of MW;

• masters - 50% of the cost of creating websites, advertising and promotion of their products on international electronic trading platforms in the part not exceeding twenty-five times the amount of MW.
