Uzbek companies are interested in entering the Spanish market

On June 1, the first round table “Tashkent – Spain: Business and Investment Opportunities in Southern Europe” was held at the Mercury Business Center, organized with the support of ACIR Southern Europe, AG Mentors Group and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.

The purpose of the event is to support investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Spain and business opportunities in Spain.

The round table was attended by representatives of about 20 different uzbek and international companies and organizations, as well as senior officials and business experts from both countries, including Commercial Attache Juan Miguel Marquez, Regional Director for Central Asia ACIR Southern Europe Miguel de la Cruz Salcedo, Head of the Trade and Economic  office in Tashkent Fernando Varela Karid, President of AG Mentors Elyar Ganiev and others.

IT Park was represented at the forum by Nigora Mirjalilova, Head of the Investment and International Relations Department, and Sarvar Vohidov, Manager for the Organization of Remote Services of the IT Services Export Department.

During the event, they held talks with representatives of some organizations. In particular, cooperation and organization of joint projects were discussed with the CEO of ACIR Southern Europe and the Regional Director of ACIR Southern Europe for Central Asia.

The possibility of signing a memorandum between IT Park and the “Economic and Trade Representation of Spain” in the field of export of IT services was discussed with the Head of the Trade and Economic Office in Tashkent, Fernando Varela Carido.

Additionally, the round table discussed themes such as:

• Support for foreign companies and business opportunities in Spain;
• How to export to Southern Europe. Tools and recommendations. Ecosystem for business;
• Success stories between Spain and Uzbekistan.

The round table concluded with a question and answer session and an exchange of contacts. This is expected to lead to closer cooperation between Uzbekistan and Spain in the future.
