Uzbekistan and Vietnam Discuss Prospects for Cooperation in Digital Technologies

As part of its strategic commitment to digital transformation and the expansion of international cooperation, Uzbekistan continues to deepen its partnerships with key IT markets across Asia. A significant milestone in this direction was the recent Uzbek–Vietnamese business dialogue, which convened representatives of government bodies and business communities from both countries to discuss promising avenues for collaboration.

On April 8, a business meeting took place at the InterContinental Trilliant Hotel between representatives of Uzbekistan and Vietnam, facilitated with the support of the Agency for Attracting Foreign Investments. The event was held in a roundtable format, bringing together senior officials and prominent business leaders from both countries.

Oleg Pekos, First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, and Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, presented the country's achievements in the fields of digitalization and telecommunications, highlighting the strong potential for joint initiatives.

Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, CEO of IT Park, likewise underscored the significance of this partnership with Vietnamese technology firms:

“This meeting with Vietnamese partners reaffirms the growing international interest in Uzbekistan’s rapidly evolving IT sector. We see significant prospects for collaboration in digital technologies, particularly in artificial intelligence and IT outsourcing. IT Park is well-positioned to serve as a bridge for Vietnamese companies seeking access to the Central Asian market, while also offering a platform for Uzbek startups striving for global scale.”

The roundtable served as a key step toward strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and Vietnam. Joint projects in digital technology and other strategic sectors are expected to open new opportunities for both nations.
