Uzbekistan IT Days in Korea

On October 5th and 6th, in Seoul and Daegu, Republic of Korea, the Uzbekistan IT Days conferences were held, organized by IT Park in collaboration with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul and the Gyeongbuk Technopark.

The event in Seoul took place at the premises of the embassy and gathered over 50 representatives from Korean IT companies. They were briefed on the opportunities for expanding their businesses by entering the Central Asian market and partnering with Uzbekistan companies.

Representatives from IT Park presented Uzbekistan's IT ecosystem, highlighting the possibilities of market entry, outsourcing, and outstaffing from Uzbekistan. They also provided detailed information about the support offered by IT Park to foreign companies, including tax incentives, assistance in opening representative offices, and support for exporting IT services from Uzbekistan.

Ms. Kim Yang Jin, the Director of the International Cooperation Development Center at Gyeongbuk Technopark, shared her experience of collaborating with IT Park, particularly emphasizing the features of working with Uzbekistani partners and the rapid changes in the country's IT sector. She also informed that Gyeongbuk Technopark plans to lead a delegation comprising around 20 representatives from South Korean business circles, which will visit Uzbekistan in the latter half of October to participate in ICT Week Uzbekistan.

Representatives from resident companies Realsoft, FIDO-Biznes, APEX Tech, MAAB Innovation, and Greatsoft, who arrived as part of the IT Park delegation, also delivered presentations and shared insights into innovative solutions, projects, and collaboration opportunities with Korean companies.

Following the events, B2B meetings were organized, during which Uzbek companies engaged in negotiations with more than 30 South Korean partners. Agreements were reached regarding the placement of various orders for software development within Uzbekistan, the establishment of representative offices for 7 South Korean companies, and the training of young professionals in various fields.

The agreements made at this event represent new opportunities for representatives of both countries and reflect the high interest of Korean IT companies in the Uzbekistan market and partnerships with Uzbek companies. It is planned that in the future, the Uzbekistan IT Days conference will be held annually in Seoul and other cities in South Korea.
