On September 28, 2019, Uzbekistan Prime Minister Mr. Aripov Abdulla and the governor of Tashkent city Mr. Artykhodzhaev Jahongir paid visit to the Park of Software Products and Information Technologies - IT Park.
During the visit the ongoing activities, first startup teams and residents of IT-Park have been introduced to the Prime Minister. Meanwhile, prospects and further development plans, as well as the implementation progress of the republican contest “mGovAward” among students launched on September 26, 2019 at “ICT WEEK UZBEKISTAN 2019” event.
The Prime Minister noted that one of the priority areas in the state policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan is the support and development of gifted youth, encouraging them to search and support the best ideas for solving technological, engineering, economic and other tasks in the IT field.
It was also noted the future admission of startup teams in IT-Park should take place with even greater transparency of processes to make the final selection in open voting for all network users.
The special attention was given to the IT Park future infrastructure; it was recommended to expedite the construction of all the remaining blocks of the complex to accommodate more promising IT companies. Plus, plans for the further development of the IT sector and the startup ecosystem in Uzbekistan, boost of training programs for IT specialists oriented to the global market, and the creation of more large-scale and promising competitions for young information technology specialists were also the important moments discussed in the meeting.
