Visit of the European Parliament delegation to IT Park

On February 22, 2023, the Tashkent branch of IT Park Uzbekistan was visited by a member of the European Parliament Ilkhan Kyuchuk, an assistant to a member of the European Parliament Valentin Tonchev and director of the analytical center “European Neighborhood Council” Samuel Doveri Vesterbye.

The purpose of the visit is to get acquainted with the course of political and socio-economic reforms in the country and discuss the possibilities of cooperation in the field of information technology.

The guests from the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan were welcomed by the Head of the Department of Foreign Economic Affairs Alisher Akramov, the Head of the Department of Switching and Transmission Systems Obid Asadov, and from the side of IT Park – Deputy Director Abdulahad Kuchkarov and Head of the Department of International Relations and Investment Promotion Nigora Mirdjalilova.

During the meeting, the guests were told about the activities of IT Park and its contribution to the development of the IT industry in Uzbekistan. They were also told about the residents of IT Park, including the types of companies and projects that are being developed there, and provided an overview of the BPO sector in Uzbekistan. At the meeting, the parties discussed possible cooperation with the representative office of the IT Park branch in the German city of Heidelberg.

After the main part of the meeting, the guests were given a tour of the IT Park branch in Tashkent and training centers for people with special needs.

Ilkhan Kyuchuk noted the special successes of Uzbekistan in creating favorable conditions for the development of the IT industry of the Republic, and also expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided to young people in order to develop a modern society.

In the future, IT Park Uzbekistan hopes to establish cooperation with the European Parliament, as well as organize several joint projects, including in the field of information technology.
