Visit of the Uzbek delegation to Spain

From February 27 to March 2 of this year in Barcelona, Spain, passed the World Mobile Congress MWC Barcelona-2023.

Official representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the company Uzbektelecom, the Directorate of IT Park, mobile operators Beeline Uzbekistan, Mobiuz, Ucell and the E-Government Projects Management Center and several other organizations working in the field of telecommunications took an active part in the congress as part of a delegation from Uzbekistan. The event was organized by Huawei.

On February 28, First Deputy Director of IT Park Abdulahad Kuchkarov and Orion Innovation Managing Partner Alex Bogachek had a meeting as part of bilateral official meetings.

The agenda of the meeting included further development of cooperation between IT Park Uzbekistan and Orion Innovation, in particular the opening of the Orion Innovation Development Center in Uzbekistan.  The parties also discussed such opportunities as a highly educated and skilled workforce, a favorable business environment and increased benefits in Uzbekistan.

A representative of Orion Innovation Alex Bogachek expressed interest in expanding its presence in Uzbekistan and exploring large-scale cooperation with IT Park Uzbekistan.

For reference: Orion Innovation was founded in 1993 and currently has more than 7,000 employees.  The company has offices in such countries as Canada, Mexico, Switzerland and others.

In response, Abdulahad Kuchkarov thanked Alex Bogacek for his interest in Uzbekistan and expressed interest in bilateral cooperation opportunities.

Additionally during the following days of the congress a number of significant joint meetings on cooperation were held.  In particular, on March 1, a meeting was organized with IT Park Uzbekistan and the head of Google’s Android products department Polina Chernikova.

The parties discussed possible cooperation on the introduction of Google service products to the market of Uzbekistan, in particular the launch of the service Android TV and the application for messaging Messages in Uzbekistan.

At the same time during the day there was a meeting between representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan and ESKZ Global Consulting. First Deputy Director of IT Park Directorate Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, General Director of IT Investments Center Abduvali Haidarov and ESKZ Global Consulting partner Alireza Farrokhzodi took part in the event on behalf of IT Park Directorate.

During the meeting, the parties discussed possible cooperation on the promotion of Uzbek IT companies in Spain and neighboring countries.  They also agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to attract Spanish companies to Uzbekistan and organize a webinar to familiarize them with the possibilities of IT sector in Uzbekistan and strengthen cooperation.

Alireza Farrokhzadi noted with satisfaction that ESKZ Global Consulting is ready to help export-oriented IT companies of Uzbekistan to enter the market of Spain and neighboring countries.

The parties agreed to organize a webinar in April of this year to familiarize Spanish companies with opportunities in IT sector of Uzbekistan. Plans to invite 150-200 Spanish companies to the webinar were discussed.

There were also talks with the Digital Language Solutions Kft. company On the last day of the forum. The issues of partnership and introducing the Talk@ease program by Digital Language Solutions Kft. to the market of Uzbekistan were discussed at the meeting.

The director of the company, Adrian Toth, speaking about the features of the Talk@ease application, expressed interest in a possible cooperation with IT Park Uzbekistan.
