IT Park resident, head of the company "Green White Solutions", Abdukakhkhor Tashmukhamedov tells about the current situation with universities, students, lack of personnel and the solution to these problems.
Studying at university for 4 years, we get only theoretical knowledge, which is not enough to find a high-paying job, especially, when it comes to programming. Because there is a great need for practical experience. Therefore, Abdukakhkhor and his supporters sent a proposal to the government (which is currently being considered) that after 2 years of study, students should start working actively in organizations and pass an internship there, while freeing students from non-core subjects. During working hours, students can do their diploma work and at the end of their studies at universities, a student will be a ready and experienced specialist, says Abdukakhkhor.
Moreover, according to Abdukakhkhor, the student will be in a winning position, after graduation he will already be mature and ready to work, with practical experience behind him.
In addition, the organizations themselves will also benefit, as the lack of IT specialists makes itself felt. They were not enough before the pandemic, but during it — this is particularly striking. It is extremely difficult for organizations to find experienced IT specialists.
The third party that also benefit is, of course, the state, which will worry less about unemployment rate. The proposal of Abdukakhkhor is to universities, the government and the organizations come to a mutual agreement. The organization can provide a program that will describe in detail how the student will develop and what they can get from the organization. In necessity cases, statistics may be provided on the growth (development) of the student, which will show the experience and quality of the student's work. In the end, the student in cooperation with the organization can make their diploma work (qualification paper).
If we take the sample of the company "Green White Solutions", this company is ready to pay specialists 10, 15 or even 20 million soums. However, unfortunately, many people do not have enough experience and knowledge. There are no necessary conditions for students to acquire knowledge. This is due to an outdated education system. Now at universities, the priority is enrollment, not education. Fortunately, IT Park was glad to accept this idea and has already started the process of implementing it into reality, said Abdukakhkhor during the online marathon "IT Park REwind".
This practice has long been actively implemented around the world, same as Silicon Valley. There, they try not just to release a student with a diploma in hand, but a good and sought-after specialist, adds Abdukahkkhor.
After all, Abdukakhkhor adds that together with IT Park, the process of implementing the idea of internships for university students in organizations will take place more quickly and smoothly, thus the situation with the lack of personnel in Uzbekistan will change for the better.
