Meeting with resident-companies was held in IT Park

On September 23, IT Park hosted a meeting with resident exporters, which was attended by the Minister of ICT Sherzod Shermatov, Director of IT Park Farhod Ibragimov and General Director of Uzbektelecom Nazirjon Khasanov.

The event was organized to discuss the development plan for IT Park and increase IT-exports in 2023.

Farhod Ibragimov made a brief presentation on the current activities of IT Park, as well as the results achieved during the existence of the organization.  At the same time, an increase in the number of export-oriented resident companies was noted, which was facilitated by the measures taken earlier to support IT companies.

So, in 2017, the number of resident companies was only 147, of which 15 were exporters.  While today this number has increased to 877 companies, of which 252 are already export-oriented.  The number of foreign companies has also increased: from 4 in 2017 to 125 in 2022.

At the same time, the amount of exports of IT services by IT Park resident companies increased to 73 million and continues to grow.

It is also worth noting the growth in the number of IT companies in the regions: in 2017 this figure was only 11 companies, and in 2022 it is already 219.

These results clearly demonstrate that the benefits and preferences provided to IT Park resident companies contribute to a steady business growth.

Many innovations were introduced as a result of dialogue with residents and the implementation of their proposals.  For example, the list of permitted activities for IT Park residents includes teaching IT-English, the possibility of paying salaries to foreign employees of IT Park residents in foreign currency has been introduced, it has become possible to open a virtual office, and more.

Also, the participants of the event were acquainted with the current projects aimed at improving the conditions for the operation of IT companies and the training of IT specialists.  Among them: IT Park University, a special program for the relocation of foreign companies and their employees, the opening of BPO centers, and more.

The main topic of the meeting was to get acquainted with plans to increase the export of IT-services for the next year and discuss current problems and proposals from resident exporters.  Thus, together with residents, the need to open an IT-outsourcing school and organize business trips to foreign countries to attract partners and orders, as well as the creation of an export corporation, which will become a kind of consortium for exporting companies, was discussed.

Following the meeting, the participants agreed to continue improving bilateral cooperation in order to increase the export potential of companies and strengthen the country's image in the global IT-services market.
