Results of the project “Digital Internship Program”

The completion of the Digital Intership Program (DIP) implemented by IT Park, the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications, the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) took place in the capital city.

The final event within the framework of the project was attended by Deputy Program Manager for Inclusive Employment of the UN Development Program in Uzbekistan Usmon Rakhimzhanov, IT Park Deputy Director for Digital Education Development Makhliyo Mukhsinova, IT Park Startup Manager and DIP Project Curator Muyassar Shermatova, as well as Heads of IT-companies and trainees.

The purpose of the joint project was to increase youth access to and participation in the digital world, as well as to expand opportunities for appropriate education and employment. The project aims to develop digital skills – from the ability to find and evaluate important content on the Internet to advanced user know-how, such as Internet marketing and sales.

In total, more than 250 girls were registered for the program, of which 136 participants passed the first stage – testing. The second stage was a technical interview, and only 53 girls passed it, who got the opportunity to intern in such IT-companies as EPAM, TechCells, Scientech Solution, PlusSoft, Nextin studio, SIROCA TECH, MarssTeam, GoodOne, Velvet, Broject, Devops, Ongila, R2 TECHNOLOGY, Advantour, PayWay, Automation source, BePro Norm, Newtec, IT Academy Navoi.

During the internship, 53 girls from different regions of Uzbekistan improved their digital skills.  As a result of the internship program, 23 girls got a job, and the rest were able to extend their internships in companies.

At the end of the event, all participants of the program were presented with gifts from the joint program DIP.

Recall that the intensive short-term internship program was aimed at graduates of IT or related technical fields of such higher educational institutions as Inha, Amity, TUIT, Yeoju, Turin, as well as other entry-level young specialists-girls. The internship was paid by the UN Development Program.

The internship program included two stages: the selection of participants and a monthly internship. With positive results of the internship, they could get the right to further employment in the companies where they were trained, or in other companies recommended by IT Park.

Within the framework of the program, three events were held: the launch of the DIP and the acquaintance of interns with employers; master class for interns; results of the DIP.
