The Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov paid a working visit to Samarkand region.
During the trip, Sherzod Khotamovich met with the founders and representatives of IT Park residents, gifted youth, discussed their activities and future plans with them.
As you know, the republic pays special attention to the development of IT-outsourcing, in which the direction of BPO plays an important role. In order to get acquainted with the activities and increase the number of BPO-specialists in Samarkand region, the Minister visited the BPO-company “Prime Samarqand”.
The participants of the meeting discussed the issue of creating digital jobs in Uzbekistan, including the expansion of IT-services and business process outsourcing (BPO) to increase the potential of youth.
The parties exchanged views on the issues of attracting young people to the BPO-sector. As the minister noted, this will allow young specialists to further export their services and thus provide them with highly paid jobs.
Sherzod Shermatov also discussed with representatives of “Prime Samarqand” issues on expanding the company's activities in the future. In turn, the Minister of ICT expressed his readiness to provide practical assistance in organizing these works and training young qualified personnel.
Sherzod Shermatov expressed his readiness to support new projects to another company. During the visit, he met with the head of “TAPP PAYMENT” LLC and the founder of the mobile application “TAPP UZ”, investor Khurshid Torayev and his team.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of expanding the company's activities. The Minister of ICT noted that he welcomes the launch of new projects that will help facilitate payment transactions, and assured that the necessary support will be provided by the department.
Recall that “TAPP PAYMENT” LLC is a resident of IT Park. The following are currently available on the TAPP UZ app:
– shopping area with many goods;
– money transfers;
– utility bills and many other services;
– booking hotels in Uzbekistan;
– purchase of railway and air tickets;
– current exchange rates.
The Minister of ICT got acquainted with the activities of two more IT Park resident-companies in Samarkand region – “Nextgen IT” LLC and “Dasturchilar klubi” LLC.
“Nextgen IT” LLC is engaged in the automation of local shopping malls, and “Dasturchilar klubi” LLC is engaged in the creation of projects in various areas of programming and training of youth in the field of IT.
Each of these business structures currently employs about 20 employees. In the future, organizations plan to become large IT-companies.
Sherzod Khotamovich talked with the heads and employees of these companies and gave his recommendations on establishing the export of services to foreign countries.
On the same day, as part of a working visit, Sherzod Khotamovich got acquainted with the progress of the repair of an additional new building of Samarkand branch of IT Park in the new Karasu massif, built in Samarkand.
The massif consists of newly built high-rise buildings and is densely populated.The creation of the Samarkand branch of IT Park will create additional convenience for many young people living in the area, without the need to travel to the city center of Samarkand.
The building with an area of 500 sq. meters is planned to be put into operation by September 1 this year. It will consist of a coworking area, classrooms and meeting rooms.
Sherzod Shermatov also visited the new IT training centers “Empire-Soft” and “IT Step Academy”, opened in Samarkand.
Each center accommodates about 100 people and trains about 200 young people every month in modern programming and other IT areas.
Sherzod Khotamovich shared with the heads of the centers his proposals for the wide involvement of young people in the field of ICT and further expansion of the activities of educational centers.
